2009 Charity Event Success

On the 25 July, 280 guests celebrated the Charity Event with a south pacific cruise theme at the ninth annual fundraiser, held at the new CUBE function centre at the Campbelltown Catholic Club. Approximately $28,000 was raised on the night to assist the Service in delivering programs for young people, families and the wider community to prevent harmful drug and alcohol use over the next 12 months.

Many guests dressed cruise theme style and enjoyed performances by Reef Thunder and the Buble and Legends of Swing Band which set the mood for a great night of fun and entertainment.

Youth Solutions CEO, Debbie Roberts, told guests that “Over the last 21 years Youth Solutions has achieved a great many things and fought many challenges. We have not done this alone, drugs and alcohol are a community problem with community solutions, and we are increasingly relying on the community to assist us in creating these solutions. We all want our young people to stay safe, live a long and productive life, and reach their full potential”.

Sincere appreciation is also extended to those businesses and individuals who donated prizes for the fundraising activities on the night. Special thanks to The Rotary Club of Narellan, Alpromote Promotional Products, Amos Insolvency, Bella Arts, Bradcorp, C91.3FM, Campbelltown Catholic Club, Campbelltown Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chris Agius Standards & Conformance, Esanda Finance, Fitzpatrick & Associates, Grimes Finance & Mortgages, Macarthur Chronicle, McDonald’s Macarthur, Profit Advantage Group, Self Storage Select, The Outdoor Furniture Specialists, The Protectors Insurance Brokers and Travelscene at South West Travel.

2009 McDonalds Charity Night

McDonald’s Restaurants across the Macarthur region support local services with the McDonald’s community program, ‘Committed to Caring for the Community’. Youth Solutions is pleased to have been able to participate as the Charity for April.

Wednesday 29 April saw the Youth Solutions team cook fries, pour drinks and serve on the drive thru, resulting in a generous donation of $2203 to the Service. The donation was made up of proceeds of sales made at all Restaurants across Macarthur between 3 pm and 7 pm.

“McDonald’s Restaurants have supported Youth Solutions for the seventh year in a row. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Narellan Town Centre, Woodbine, Narellan and Campbelltown Restaurants. As usual we had a great time learning new skills, working with the McDonalds crews and meeting the customers. Youth Solutions greatly appreciates the $2203 raised on the night”, stated Youth Solutions CEO, Debbie Roberts.

Funds raised at the Charity Night will assist Youth Solutions in supporting young people to make safer life choices when it comes to alcohol and other drug use.
